Blog: The Generational Blessing of WALKING WITH GOD

May 12, 2026

Genesis 6:9 ”…Noah walked (lived) (in habitual fellowship) with God.” AMP

Interestingly the same was written of his great grandfather.

Genesis 5:24 Enoch walked [in habitual fellowship] with God... AMP

What does it mean to walk in this “habitual fellowship with God?”  Are you a person who purposes a daily intimate relationship with God practicing his presence as your way of life? Different for every one of us:

You can have a living, functioning, vibrant relationship with God operating in your life on a daily basis. Every decision is just a discussion you have with the God as your way of life, praying without ceasing. This kind of relationship with God in your life will affect generations of people. Last week we spoke about generational architecture of the faith.  This week we want to begin to look at how this has played out in our Nation.

Just like brokenness can pass through generations so can blessing.

The highest office in our land has proclaimed today, May 17th, 2026, as a day to rededicate America as One Nation under God Rededicate 250. This is a special year for our Nation and we are looking forward to our Destiny Celebration on that final Sunday of June, like we’ve been having now for more than 25 years! 2026 is very significant!

500 years ago on March 16, 1776, the Continental Congress declared May 17th to be a National Day of Humility, fasting, and prayer across all the colonies — calling the nation to confess its sins and seek God's hand of protection as war with Britain was approaching. America's founders were calling our nation to pray before the Revolutionary War.

So are we a Christian Nation?

Of the first 108 universities founded in America, 106 were distinctly Christian. Anybody know the first University founded in America, chartered in 1636?  Harvard University. Christian?

HARVARD'S original stated purpose for its students was: "To be plainly instructed and consider well that the main end of your life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ...." If you wanted to learn scripture Harvard was the place to go. Student Requirements: "Everyone shall so exercise himself in reading the Scriptures twice a day that he shall be able to give an account of his proficiency therein."

YALE – If you wanted to learn how to pray Yale was the place to go. Student Requirements: "Seeing that God is the giver of all wisdom, every student, besides his private and secret prayer, will be present morning and evening for public prayer."

PRINCETON  During those years Princeton averaged between 17 and 28 students per year. In one decade, Princeton graduated:

  • 1 President
  • 1 Vice President,
  • 3 Supreme Court Justices,
  • 10 Cabinet members,
  • 12 Governors,
  • 21 U.S. Senators,
  • 39 U.S. Congressmen

A full 1/3 of our founding fathers were trained at Princeton University.

What was the philosophy of an institution that produced so many national leaders? Princeton's founding statement, "Cursed is all learning that is contrary to the cross of Christ."

The freshman project of each of the founding universities in America was that the student be given a copy of the Greek New Testament and from it make a handwritten translation into English!

We have a generational blessing to call on in this Nation!

Our forefathers believed the Bible to be an instrument of Truth that would hold a Nation on course. How about you? This is the case for us personally generationally as we are commanded to train our children to walk with God. But you must be intentional!

Deuteronomy 6:5-7 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. GP2RL: Intentionally initiate a conversation about the faithfulness of God in your life around your table this week.
