Blog: One Nation Under God

Psalms 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord… ESV

Rabbi Daniel Lapin in his book THOU SHALL PROSPER says, “Prosperous Nations in our world sprang forth from pages of scripture. More than 90% of world population would change places with the poorest in this Nation in a heartbeat. The most Christian Nation on earth is history’s greatest engine of prosperity and vitality. Every country rooted in atheism has its inhabitants standing in line for food?”

Submission to Jesus and his Word releases something powerful in your life and to your world. Heaven has unlocked something in your heart that is more than the avenue to get to heaven. As people of faith, we are equipped release the full impact of a good God and a prosperous Kingdom to broken world in desperate need of God’s love! Giving sowing, believing and declaring are all part of this journey! Blessed to be a blessing!

Psalms 33:11-22 The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage…20 Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. 22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you. ESV

Our nation was born from the idea that people could govern themselves with God’s guidance as ONE NATION UNDER GOD.

Our nation will flourish if every person holding any public office is fully surrendered to Christ. Our founding forefathers clearly believed the principles of Christianity are needed to govern well and to hold this Nation on course

James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution of the United States, said this: '"We have staked  the whole future of our new nation not upon the power of government; far from  it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments."'

Calvin Coolidge, our 30th President of the United States reaffirmed this truth when he wrote, '"The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country."

According to the Delaware Constitution, 1776 – in establishing their new form of government, “Every person appointed to public office shall say ‘I do profess faith in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ His only Son, and in the Holy Ghost, one God, blessed for evermore; and I do acknowledge the Holy Scriptures of the Old and new Testament to be given by divine inspiration.’”

Our founding forefathers clearly believe you need Christian principles as defined in the Bible to govern well and to hold this Nation on course. And this is our position as a church.

In 1647 in the state of Massachusetts passed the "Old Deluder Law"  "...one chief object of that old deluder, Satan, to keep men from the knowledge of the Scriptures..." The mandates a teacher for any community of 50 families and a school for any community of 100 families.

In 1782, the United States Congress voted this resolution: '"The Congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools."

Biblically impoverished people live poorly constructed lives. Biblically empowered people live thriving, flourishing lives.

The awareness of and submission to God’s Word in societies around world has had profound impact in humanity. The awareness of and submission to God’s Word will have a profound impact on your heart, your home, your life and your legacy!

Deuteronomy 30:16 If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you today, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you… ESV

God has chosen for us to be the generation that would be here in this nation 250 years later. What will we do with our freedom to serve the eternal purposes of God beyond merely enjoying our own lives?

Prosperous Nations in our world sprang forth from pages of scripture. Ideas really matter. Values really matter. If God can change a nation, what can he do with a life?
