Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. ESV
This wasn't a general greeting. It was a priestly assignment and was always spoken just after the priest had been to the altar. The blessing began at the altar. It still does. Today, every believer is part of a "royal priesthood" (1 Peter 2:9), so every believer now carries the assignment to bless.
Declare this together:
Numbers 6:24-26 The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. ESV
Each line very intentionally builds with intensifying emphasis. 3 lines grow from 3 words to 5 words and then 7 words. The 3 lines grow from 15 letters to 20 letters and then 25 letters.
Hebrew poetry uses increasing length to create a sense of increasing intensity, like a crescendo in music. In this text it is as if the blessing itself is expanding as God pours out more and more. Each line increases in volume and lands on the fullest word of all, shalom.
The name of the Lord, Yahweh, is the beginning of each line, revealing clearly that every good thing flows from Him, not the priest declaring it.
Numbers 6:24 The Lord bless you and keep you;
This is a picture of a shepherd guarding a flock, or a watchman guarding a city through a long night. The Lord is with you!!! He is with you, watching over you. The Bible actually says he sings over you! Selah
Numbers 6:25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
In ancient times, when a king's countenance was shining upon you it meant his favor was fully turned toward you. The Bible says no one could see God’s face and live making this declaration extremely significant. You are fully known and fully loved by God!
Numbers 6:26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. ESV
The blessing lands on the full release of God’s blessing of wholeness, completeness, everything set right and flourishing as God intended: SHALOM!
For centuries this blessing came through a priest who stood between God and the people declaring this blessing, but the face of God was still hidden.
Then "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus absorbed the curse of God turning his face away from sin declaring, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Now through the cross of Jesus Christ the face of God can turn fully toward us in favor. Every line of this priestly blessing is embodied in Christ concluding with the fulness of Shalom. Jesus’ parting words in John 14 was: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you."
We have been commissioned by God through Christ to release something of substance from our altar into our 5’ circle. Everywhere we go we bring God’s presence to real life.
Every believer is part of a "royal priesthood" (1 Peter 2:9). That means every believer has an altar to tend and a blessing to release.
Time at the altar awakens substance in our lives and puts weight in our words.
Most believers are simply praying hopeful prayers without true spiritual authority that is born from a consecrated humility before the Lord!
Prayer is where we get our spiritual intelligence to be able to fight the battles that the enemy is trying to mobilize against us. We’re going to discover some language to be able to identify more clearly a spiritual battle that is taking place in our world.
The Islamification of our Nation is at real thing. And these people are more consecrated than we are. They understand their authority organizationally, politically, relationally, etc and they are influencing communities and nations in a very strategic way.
Islamification is a belief system, not a bloodline. It is an ideology not a religion. We address the spirit of the Islamification that murders, rapes, oppresses and enters into communities of the world to dominate not to integrate.
We have a spiritual authority they do not have but you wouldn’t know it because of the strategic nature of their coordinated efforts to integrate and dominate. In the UK we spoke to someone personally who shared there are thousands of Islamic immigrants coming in who are military men presenting IDs that say they are 17 years old which gives them privileged access as minors. We must understand our call as living stones who are part of this royal priesthood call to serve the purposes of the Most High God!!!
GP2RL: Every morning for the rest of the year commit 15 minutes when you start your day to stand in your home and declare this priestly blessing over your life, over your family and over your friends.
