We’ve been examining God’s plan for generational architecture to be handed down from generation to generation throughout the ages.
Psalms 145:4 One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. ESV
Our forefathers worked to establish an earthly government that would make way for greater entrance to heavenly government to capture the hearts of all men.
John Adams, Founding Father and the second President of the United States warned, “We have no gov powerful enough to contend with unrestrained human passion (which is) able to break the strongest cords of our Constitution like a whale breaking through a net.”
The Founding Fathers understood that external laws alone are insufficient to maintain a free society.
The New England Primer was the dominant educational textbook in colonial America for over 100 years. Children learned to read using Scripture. The alphabet was taught through biblical verses. The primer included the Lord's Prayer and the Ten Commandments.
The assumption was that literacy and theological formation happened simultaneously.
Patrick Henry’s last will and testament said, "I have now disposed of all my property to my family. There is one thing more I wish I could give them, and that is the Christian religion. If they had that and I had not given them one cent, they would be rich. If they had not that and I had given them all the world, they would be poor."
Benjamin Rush was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and one of the most vocal advocates among the Founders for a publicly funded, education system. Rush argued passionately that the Bible must be central to all educational efforts in this nation to preserve the foundation of morality in the hearts of our children.
"The great enemy of the salvation of man, never invented a more effectual means of eradicating Christianity from the world than by persuading mankind that it was improper to read the Bible at schools."
The law of the land matters. So does the law of God as described in God’s Word. America was founded on these Biblical principles of morality!
So, the question we wrestle with today is Should we accept Sharia Law in the United States of America?
More than a dozen states have passed laws blocking Sharia from their courts saying no foreign legal system should compete with our Constitution:
Sharia says the Bible is corrupt and altered. Only the Quran is considered the final, perfectly preserved correction of all previous revelation and scripture.
600 years after Jesus, Muhammad shows up, goes into a cave and has an experience that terrifies him and that he himself said was demonic. His wife comforted him and helped him see her point of view that it wasn’t demonic it was divine. They have their own “Did God really say” moment just like in the Garden and he offers his revision of all Scripture called the Quran.
The Bible was written over 1500 years by more than 40 different authors in 3 different languages across 3 different continents. These authors were from wildly different backgrounds — kings, shepherds, fishermen, tax collectors, physicians, military generals, priests, and prisoners
No editorial board. No coordinating committee for this vast array of topics yet they all flow together with harmony and agreement in a way that can only be described as supernatural.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed… NIV
Muhammad was one man who lived on one continent and spoke one language. At the age of 40 he claimed that everything previously established was corrupt and he alone had the corrections. In his writings of the Quran we find things like:
Men can have 4 wives and women can only have one husband.
If a wife doesn’t do what she’s told the husband can strike her. Surah 4:34
Before I go on I want to say the infuriating details I’m about to read are not random statements from a blog post or a political opinion. It is part of the official congressional record as sworn testimony before a subcommittee of the United States House of Representatives in 2026.
Islamic law, based on words attributed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad himself, forbids a woman to refuse sexual intercourse to her husband under any circumstances. The Islamic religion forbids the rape of Muslim women, but it does not forbid the rape of non-Muslim women. The Qur’an specifically allows for this as a legitimate sexual outlet for Muslim men.

Sharia is a comprehensive legal system with five domains, not just a religious code.
Political Governance
Criminal Law
There are fixed punishments considered God-ordained:
People in the UK have marveled to me about how the LGBTQ+ march in the free Palestine movement while homosexuality is a sin punishable by life imprisonment or death in 64 countries including Saudi Arabia, Iran and Yemen.
One system says God built the law into creation and conscience. The other says God dictated the law through a specific prophet and text.
2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. ESV
Have you ever looked at the context of this verse? Solomon is dedicating the Temple.
Why is God talking about repentance and restoration?
The Constitution of the United States of America is built on the foundation that all men are created equal and endowed by God with unalienable rights.
Earthly governmental intervention should not be underestimated. But let me also say that earthly governmental intervention should not be over-estimated.
Earthly government. Heavenly government.
Family Law in Marriage:
An eight-year-old child bride in Yemen was given to settle a debt her father owed a 40-year-old man. That child died after her forced wedding night from internal bleeding. I was reluctant to mention this horrific story until I researched it discovering more than 22,000 child brides die every year from various complications. The reason they die is because they are children and this is evil.

Human rights frameworks that advocate for women’s rights and protection of child brides are considered to simply be Western impositions to Sharia Law.
Human rights and Sharia Law are essentially incompatible
Islamic scholar in France reveals: "In 30 years, France, Belgium and Europe will be Muslim. In Brussels today, Muslims are 43% of the population. Among the youth, Muslims are already the majority. Infidels should be ready, it's going to get very difficult for them!"
Earthly governmental intervention should not be underestimated.
The Village Board of Trustees in Washington Park, Illinois set an annual license fee of $30,000 for adult entertainment establishments.
Earthly governmental intervention should not be underestimated. But earthly governmental intervention should not be over-estimated either.
There are earthly governments and there is a heavenly government. The early church had zero political power — and yet exploded across the Roman empire transforming the hearts of murderous opposition to Christianity.
If we’re not careful, we allow fear losing influence or power through man’s systems and unsheathe our swords (wounding people like Peter did) and forget the greatest power we have - the power of the Holy Spirit.
In priority and in reality, we are citizens of heaven before we are American citizens. Therefore, we should contend for God‘s kingdom government even more than we contend for the American government. And we should never be deceived into thinking we can achieve a kingdom result through “unkingdom” methods or attitudes.
The church is at its worst when it falls for the love of power and the church is at its best when it displays the power of love.
Governments cannot restrain evil. They cannot redeem souls. Only one throne saves and fills human hearts with life, love, and redemption.
Politics becomes idolatry when I feel more urgency about elections than praying for lost souls. When I talk more about candidates than Christ. When my peace will rise and fall with news cycles.
Jesus was around a politically charged environment and yet He preached, “Seek first the kingdom of God.” (Matt. 6:33). He didn’t become a Zealot. He didn’t become a Roman loyalist. He announced a superior Kingdom. This is our call as Christian Americans.
When Christians are as angry and afraid as everyone else, we look like we trust the same things everyone else trusts. But when a believer is steady, gentle, hopeful — that’s disruptive in a beautiful way.
If your hope rises and falls with elections, your hope is misplaced. I’m not trying to get you to be less political. I’m trying to get you to be more Christ centered.
When Christ is supreme in the heart, politics will finds its proper place; important but not ultimate.
