Blog 40 Days- Passionately Pursuing

January 11, 2026

When God reveals something, it is not Biblical to take a “wait and see” attitude.

1 Timothy 1:18 Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight. NAS

NLT says, “Timothy, my son, here are my instructions for you, based on the prophetic words spoken about you earlier. May they help you fight well in the Lord’s battles.”

Don’t just wait and see. Join the fight!

God is inviting us into a deeper place. A deeper place comes at a greater price but great is the reward for those who choose this path with God. We need you in this fight! Your family and your friends need you in this fight.

Genesis 12:7-8 The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So, he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him. 8 From there he moved to the hill country on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel (house of God) on the west and Ai (Ruins) on the east. And there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord. ESV

Ai speaks of the battle we all have with the flesh. We always dwell in this place of having to constantly make the choice to remind ourselves, better is one day in the courts of the Lord than a thousand elsewhere!

God appears to Abram and Abram‘s response is to build an altar.

When God awakens something in your heart, you have the ability to perpetuate the continual influence of that revelation in your life by building a sacrificial altar, or some form of a sacrificial pattern. This is the practice of passionately pursuing God’s desire to influence your heart and life.

Are you passionately pursuing the heart of the Lord?

It’s one thing to have core values and it’s another to have core practices. Your talk talks and your walk talks but your walk talks louder than your talk talks.

Our core practices for passionately pursuing are Fasting and Prayer and Reading, memorizing and rehearsing Scripture.

Fasting really is like feasting in God’s presence where we learn about deeper appetites of the spirit. The body will protest saying I am your lord and master. Feed me! Great opportunity to put your body in its place and pursue “food you know not of”

God is inviting us into a deeper place. A deeper place comes at a greater price but great is the reward for those who choose this path with God.

GP2RL: Patterns reveal our priorities so what will your pattern of experiencing God in his Word and in fasting & prayer look like this week?
