Blog: 40 Days- Outrageously Loving

January 4, 2026

Your talk talks and your walk talks, but your walk talks louder than your talk. Talking with Jesus regularly leads to walking with Jesus consistently and his walk becomes your witness.

John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. ESV

Fruitfulness in your life comes from your connection to Christ. The way we experience God influences the way we express his heart to our world.

Core Practices for this Core Value of outrageously loving involve Sabbath and Service.

Sabbath is a pattern of experiencing God and learning to live more deeply.

You don’t have to buy it or order it online. All have to do is stop and enjoy a rhythm of rest in community.

  1. Light candles
  2. Bless your children
  3. Eat a meal
  4. Voice Gratitude
  5. Sing
  6. Walk
  7. Nap
  8. Share your devotions
  9. Reading scripture
  10. Invite others

This is not a to do list but a description of patterns that are commonly included in sabbath. This leads to the 2nd practice of outrageously loving people, SERVICE. This is about sacrificing or even suffering with or for someone in your 5-foot circle by selflessly serving them as unto Lord.

The more God reiterates a word or idea in Scripture the more we should pay attention. We read the word, “Pray” 371 times, “Love” 714 times but “Give” is mentioned 2,152 times.

The Bible mentions “Give” 3xs for every “Love”, emphasizing the importance of an actionable practice.

For God so loved that He gave! Let’s purpose to live generous lives like never before in 2026. Tithing breaks that spirit of materialism in our lives and that unlocks something of a greater degree of generosity in the way we love others well.

Studies show how those who give generously are happier, healthier people who experience more fruitful lives. This is our goal as a church family. Everywhere we go we bring God’s presence to real life by being OUTRAGEOUSLY LOVING people who PASSIONATELY PURSUE the Lord with IRRATIONALLY GIVING lifestyles as we CONSISTENTLY SUBMIT to God’s desires and EFFECTIVELY DISCIPLE others to do the same.

Philippians 2:3-8 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. ESV

(Constantly practice focusing on others in the room)

Your future is in the hands of your habits not your hopes. Hope is not a strategy. For those interested in learning more about what it means to truly be a part of the Destiny church family you can attend Next Steps on Sunday February 8th immediately following the service. We will take less than 30 minutes after church that day to explain a few details about how to get more connected.

GP2RL: Explore the idea of Sabbath in the context of your life. Put sacrificial service into practice daily this week in an effort to serve others well.
